Angel Russell Love is a dynamic and dedicated champion of education, with over 27 years of inspiring work in public schools. Her energy and passion have driven initiatives that open doors for students in Oklahoma City, Millwood, and Mid-Del Public Schools, creating brighter futures for youth throughout the greater Oklahoma City area.
Currently, Angel shines as a high school English teacher, where she goes above and beyond by mentoring new educators in the education field and collaborating with GEAR UP to help her students access post-secondary opportunities. Her leadership experience spans strategic planning, fundraising, community outreach, and financial management, all of which fuel her commitment to educational excellence.
Angel’s dedication to educational service extends beyond the classroom—she’s deeply involved in community volunteer work, constantly giving back, and empowering others. She is oldest of six and she was the first in her family to earn a college degree matriculating at Oklahoma’s only HBCU, Langston University with a B.A. in English and education. She proudly served in the U.S. Army as a chaplain assistant at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hopital in Fort Polk Louisiana. Angel has an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Instruction and an M.Ed in Adult and Continuing Education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She is also in the final stages of completing an Ed.D in Leadership and Administration from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma. As a lifelong learner, Angel strives to build on her expertise and skills to drive meaningful change.
Residing in Oklahoma City, Angel enjoys quality time with her husband, retired educator Terrell Love, and their three wonderful children—Terrell, Lyric, and Canaan. In her free time, you can find her curled up with a good book or surrounded by loved ones. She’s excited to continue making a difference with the Foundation for Liberating Minds, helping to shape a better and more empowered community.
