Pay Scale: (Salary/$60,000) + robust benefits

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt 

Location: Oklahoma-based or virtual if out-of-state  

Work Format: Hybrid, In-office & Virtual 

Position Description:

The Director of Operations (DOps) plays a leading role in ensuring the sustainability of FLM through grant writing, grant maintenance and reporting, logistical coordination for community events, and administrative support including data entry and analysis. This role works to systematize FLM databases to create more efficient and robust processes. The DOps works closely with the Co-Executive Director, Director of Development, and Community Building Coordinator, as well as with part-time staff as necessary. This role is not as community-facing as our other full-time staff, but this role is right for you if you are someone who values community relationships, has a passion for social justice issues, and is eager to learn. 

About FLM: 

The Foundation for Liberating Minds (FLM) works to disrupt the root causes of oppression and marginalization through transformative education. We organize trainings and workshops in addition to various community-based programs. Our work is carried out by our Black-led, multiracial, multicultural, multiethnic collective of members. It is our ultimate goal to create The Liberation School OKC, featuring our transformative, anti-oppressive curriculum and holistic frameworks for student thriving.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Grant writing (50%)

    • Sourcing grant opportunities FLM is qualified for 

    • Writing grant proposals 

    • Compiling required grant materials 

    • Building strong relationships with funders

  • Administrative Coordination (20%) 

    • Data entry – contact listserv, campaign data, event metrics, grant outcomes

    • Email correspondence – reminders to staff 

    • Meeting management – set up calendar invites, follow up with attendees 

    • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms

  • Grant maintenance/reporting (15%)

    • For awarded grants ensuring quarterly and annual reports are updated and maintained throughout the year 

  • Event/organizing logistics Coordination (15%)

    • Create organized systems for the logistics of FLM events, programs, and campaigns 

Required Experience / Qualifications 

  • Nonprofit and/or social justice grant writing 5+ years 

  • Competency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, or other organizational systems 

  • Strong organizational capacity–ability to prioritize competing demands

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant fields including but not limited to Business Administration/Management, Non-Profit Management, Finance

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Self-starter who takes the initiative when tasks need to be completed 

  • Event coordination and planning experience

  • Familiarity with developing community-based efforts from an organizing or fundraising perspective 

  • Problem solver 

  • Collaborative worker 

  • Passion for social justice & intercultural communication

Expected Work Hours & Compensation

  • FLM full-time staff members work a total of 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday. 

  • Some evenings and weekends are required. FLEX time will be provided based on these out-of-standard-work-hour engagements that require the position’s attendance

Travel

  • Some travel is required for this position, including but not limited to community meetings, conferences, FLM-related meetings, and fundraising events. Necessary accommodations will be made.
