Joy is a community-centered city planner and reproductive justice activist. Joy co-leads FLM’s Health Hotties, a holistic health equity project infusing whole wellness practices into each of our pillars. Joy is deeply entrenched in this field through work as a Sexual Health expert, fighting reproductive health inequality by creating awareness through research, and working in the area of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She holds two Bachelor's degrees in Women’s and Gender Studies and African and African American Studies from OU and a Master of Architecture from the state university. She cares for the built environment and how its creation can produce healthier communities where all can thrive, especially Black people across the diaspora.
Joy currently lives in Dallas, Texas working for a private firm as an environment and development planner. She can be found giving big Capricorn energy and reading FLM members for filth through their astrology charts. Joy brings levity and light to the work and reminds community members to practice rest as resistance.
